L'Amante del Demonio plot

"When Italian Horror Cinema Becomes Morbid!"

A young lady, Helga, reaches a sixteenth-century castle with two friends. According to the locals, this castle is the house of the devil. Despite the rumors, they ask if they can spend the night. Helga falls into a deep sleep and has horrific nightmares in which she dreams what really happened in this castle centuries ago. She becomes the Devil's mistress. She kills her husband and cuts off the tongue of the woman who witnessed her intercourse with Satan. She is then handed over to the executioner...

This horror film was mainly chosen for the beautiful Rosalba Neri, but you can hardly call it horror.

The synopsis of the story pretty much tells the whole story; there's nothing more to see. The executioner comes across as somewhat ridiculous and can suddenly disappear and reappear anywhere. The story is also presented in a rather chaotic way, given the past and present, and the connections remain vague. Fortunately, we still have some sly moments, especially Neri, though unfortunately, you won't see much of him. The film itself functions like the executioner here: a bland, ridiculous story where your attention sometimes suddenly disappears and sometimes reappears. Also note the scene in the bar in the medieval café. Ridiculous in its simplicity: a small counter with a few pots and a single jar of liquor. 2/10
