Leslie C. Tucker (Michael Caine) is a detective hired by the wealthy Anglich (Michael Constantine). He must search for his long-lost daughter. He finds out that either Ellen (Natalie Wood) or Mianne Prendergast (Kitty Winn) must be the daughter. He just doesn't know which of the two it is.
