As a teenager, Cassie Cranston once had to scratch out of Beaver's Ridge after a public humiliation. Now the "village slut" of yesteryear returns home as a successful sex columnist for her mother's funeral. The picturesque Ridge still appears to be that same boring bastion of decency and family values. But under that layer of veneer, the lusts writhe more violently than ever and when her old "friends" want to use her expertise to organize an orgy, she sees her chance. After all, who wouldn't want to read a book about a bunch of horny weirdos in the countryside?
