Beneath the Skin plot

In the sweltering heat of a London summer, someone is chasing three women. The women do not know each other, and therefore do not know that they are being stalked. The one thing that binds the women in common is the fact that the stalker, who knows their most intimate moments and every move, is out to get under their skin, even if it means killing him! Nadia questions the police's ability to protect her and takes the law into her own hands. As she digs further into the lives of the other two women, she unknowingly invites the killer into her life.

Not an impressive movie. The story got off to a good start, but I couldn't understand what the first woman had to do with it. Not enough was explained. Reasonable music though. Actors were also good, but the posh English accent does not appeal to me. The film was also not exciting, although it managed to fascinate.

Bit long winded. The clichés don't make it much better, let alone the odd acting at times (dialogues weren't strong). The women in particular did not really evoke sympathy, which makes it difficult to really get carried away in the story. Too bad, because I used to enjoy reading the books.

The fact of a stalker chasing three women and that the women have no connection with each other is fun in itself. The first is 23-year-old Zoe Haratounian (Stephanie Leonidas), a school teacher who becomes a heroine through accidental intervention with a watermelon. Her boyfriend is an aggressive gardener who may be the culprit. He also has two weird friends, Moz and Jase. A little later, the focus is on the attractive milf Jennifer (Emma Fielding) who has private problems and does not trust her husband with other women. Here too, the stalker manages to confuse Jeniffer's life with threatening letters. The third victim is the capricious Nadia (Rebecca Palmer) who starts to delve more into the case because the police are always on the wrong track. Quite long in scope, but quite nice. The big disadvantage is that you can quickly know the identity of the stalker. But the biggest flaw is the very weak effect towards the end at the swimming pool, which gives a blemish to the film. First 150 minutes solid, last half hour weak. 5/10
