Bambi (Heart) Bone plot
In a Japanese suburb, the film follows two children, aged about eleven, as they play, their adventures and fantasies. They live in Shisibonee, a suburb of Tokyo, where eleven-year-old Tadao has to put up with his fearful mother's strange habits and, worse, his father's disturbing needs. His best and only friend is his former classmate Aya, who now attends a different, less expensive school and is often sent out into the streets when her mother receives one of her many lovers. In their solitude, the children find each other and fantasize about what and who they could be. When Tadao's father sees the friendship between the two, he becomes terribly jealous.
