A low budget film by the Bruges director Stroo. I read somewhere that the budget was €1500, which is very little. In relation to the result, it was done very well. That doesn't make Egoiste a top film, but it does command respect and admiration.
A film that literally jumps from one subject to another with its flashbacks and even those don't always run in sync. You have to keep your attention. I wasn't 100% immersed in the Parisian atmosphere or the events between the two friends.
Fairly unknown film, completely unknown even, even here in Belgium. Screened at the FF of Peking. I thought the camerawork was good. Difficult to put a real feeling on it.
