A Will of Their Own plot

Five generations of women from 1884 to 1985 are fighting for a change in society. Everything takes place on the basis of events within a family. Annie emigrates from Europe to the United States. She becomes pregnant from her forbidden love with her employer's son. Her cousin Susan, the granddaughter of the local doctor, opens one of the first homes for battered women in the United States.
