Childhood plot

Childhood is the story of a 12-year-old boy who lives with his single mother. His mother is blinded by her own violent past. Frustrated, she has been waiting for years for a marriage proposal from her boyfriend. When her boyfriend brings a cake on Christmas Eve, the boy can't control himself and secretly eats the whole cake. This is soon discovered and the boy has to pay for this with a heavy beating. When that same evening his mother is proposed to by her aggressive boyfriend, the boy is at his wits' end. He decides to commit suicide. But then he meets a single woman who manages to change his mind. The boy, damaged by humiliation and abuse, yearning for love and attention, sees in this woman the mother he always wanted. Trust brings them closer together. Can he stay with her or will his mother try to prevent this by all means?
