L'Araignée de Satin plot

France, 1920s. Solange returns as a ballet teacher to a girls' boarding school where she herself was once taught. There she is reunited with Marthe, the head teacher, with whom she used to have an affair. Solange is emotionally unstable and undergoes both drug addiction rehabilitation and psychiatric hospital therapy. At the same time, one of the students returns after an unexplained absence and although she brings a police officer to protect her personally, she is found dead some time later. The charged boarding school atmosphere where love between the girls and jealousy predominate turns out to be a good climate for murder.

A stubborn little work, about which Pippo il Buffone has already had sensible things to say, so I don't need to. Little happens in the first part; it only gets interesting during the girls' boarding school Christmas party with parents and guests. Otherwise, it makes no sense. It is about an unstable teacher who seduces a student and a lost girl on an island in a small lake. Anyway, figure it out yourself. That satin fetish doesn't really come across. The 1920s feel a bit tacked on and aren't really believable. They are sailing on the lake in a small boat that clearly dates from our time. What *is* the 1920s, and as far as I'm concerned the real star of this film: that beautiful *Hotchkiss*, a French classic that was only affordable by the well-to-do bourgeoisie.
