Ladies and Gentlemen, Mr. Leonard Cohen plot

Ladies and Gentlemen...Mr. Leonard Cohen is an informal portrait of the then thirty-year-old singer/poet Leonard Cohen. Cohen was born in Montreal but was living on a Greek island at the time of the film. The film was made during one of his short visits to his hometown, where he regularly goes to 'renew his neurotic ties'. In Montreal, Cohen receives an enthusiastic reception: as a poet he recites his verses from the stage before his audience and as an unorthodox member of a family where, as he says, only his grandfather displayed similar gifts. That Cohen is endowed with poetic eloquence is evident from his performances and the comments of his friends. Cohen mainly reads from the collections 'A Spice Box of Earth' and 'Flowers for Hitler'.
