Welt Spiegel Kino plot

Welt Spiegel Kino consists of three more or less independent parts. It is the intention of the maker to make even more comparable parts, which can then be shown in varying composition and order. The parts follow a similar process. They start from exterior shots for a cinema. It then zooms in, as it were, on the people, vehicles and events in front of and even in the cinema. The maker searched various archives for material to bring a random street scene to life at a random moment. The cinemas in these three parts are: the Kinematograf Theater Erdberg in Vienna (1912), the Apollo Theater in Surabaya (1929) and the Cinema Sao Mamede Infesta in Porto (1929). One can see how Deutsch tries to succeed in reviving everyday life in Austria, Indonesia and Portugal at the beginning of the last century.
