Ghost Soup plot
Ichiro moves to a new apartment on Christmas Day. Before he can actually settle down, he is constantly harassed by a group of people. He would get in the way of their plans and they do everything they can to get him away.

I largely agree with Dopke, but I think the basic plot still has something to it.
The idea also yields a few very nice scenes, especially the flashbacks. Apart from that, it is all far too amateurish. Iwai who tries to do something with music and colors, but often only half succeeds. Also not very surprising for TV work, but that is no excuse.
A bit of a children's film, which unfortunately is not funny, but towards the end it has more and more beautiful moments. Iwai has come a long way since then, but it is nice to see that even in his first films, shadows of his later strength can be found.
Tiny 2.5* for this one.

Indeed, some mixed feelings here. In itself a nice idea with nice ideas. Only the humor was not so right. Too weak or just used in the wrong context which made the film rather annoying at times.
The first work of Iwai. Not much to write home about. Fortunately he did evolve in his later oeuvre. A nice try, but nothing more than that.
