Pirate's Passage plot
The story is set in 1952 in Gray Rocks, Nova Scotia, an ancient village that was known 250 years ago as a much-loved port for pirates. Twelve-year-old Jim Hawkins is bullied at school after his father's death, but his endless imagination and sense of adventure keep him going. His mother works hard to keep their inn (The Admiral Anson Inn) out of the hands of ruthless businessman Roy Moehner. The sudden arrival of Captain Johnson, whose small sailboat has been thrown off course by a storm and is now looking for a room, changes their lives. He becomes a mentor and friend to Jim, helping him with his schoolwork on pirates and teaching him important life lessons.
