Pupendo plot
Bedřich Mácha is a sculptor who lives in a small apartment in Prague with his wife Alena. Years ago, for political reasons, he was forced to give up his job as head of a studio at the Academy of Art. He was also banned from exhibiting his creations and deliberately no more orders were placed with him. He lives an embittered life and now makes ceramic kitsch with his wife, which they sell to the tourists. Míla Břečka's family lives a completely opposite life. Míla, primary school principal, and his wife Magda, formerly a student of Bedřich, are cooperating with the communist regime. Although many people condemn them, this cowardly behavior gives them a better life. In addition to this older generation, there is also the younger generation who have their own opinion about the behavior and ambitions of their parents. They do not believe that the situation will improve and they do not expect much from their parents' efforts.
