Tailor Pippo Popolino is hired by the Duchess of Genoa to test the trustworthiness of her soon-to-be daughter-in-law Elena. The Duchess promises him a great reward, if he does his job well. Pippo keeps his cover as Casanova a secret until he sees that the engaged couple is really in love. But the evil doge of Venice discovers the deception and uses the Casanova cloak for his own schemes. Pippo must pull out all the stops to protect Elena.
