The Lady in the Car with Glasses and a Gun plot

"Her first mistake was getting into the car."

Dany (Samantha Eggar) is Caldwell's (Oliver Reed) secretary. She is asked to take him to the airport and deliver the car to his home after work. When she accidentally takes a wrong turn, she decides to take the car for a weekend away and be back in time to pick up her boss. She takes a hitchhiker who steals the car. When she later finds the car, there is a corpse of a man in it. She finds out his address and decides to dump him there. Once there, she sees pictures of her making love to the man, although she has never seen the man before. She suspects her boss and his wife are trying to trap her.

I had already seen the 2015 remake, and then the punch line of the story is no longer really a surprise. It's nice how faithful the remake remains to the original, but still brings a slightly different atmosphere. But besides that, the remake also has much better production values, and nicer old cars. I'm not going to draw a comparison between Samantha Eggar and Freya Mavor.

Interesting from a historical point of view perhaps, but if you've seen the remake it's hardly worth it. And vice versa too.
