Ulvesommer plot

Young Norwegian girl Kim (Julia Pauline Boracco Braathen) nearly dies after falling from a slope. She finds a shelter, but there she stumbles upon the shelter of a wolf and her puppy. She stays as far away from the wolves as possible, but after a while she starts to find the animals less and less scary. When she discovers that three shepherds are planning to kill the wolves, she decides to take the animals across the Swedish border, where wolves are not hunted.

Adventure film for young people about a girl who gets injured while mountain climbing and gets help from a hunted wolf. In turn, she helps the wolf to go to an area where hunting is prohibited. In itself a nice film, but nothing special, and certainly not flawless. For example, she is injured for a week and that week seems to last only an afternoon, there is a back and forth switching where time passes for her and for the rest time stands still. In terms of editing, this is done very badly. Nature is shown very realistically, for example wolves are hunted and the wolves kill various animals to get food, for animal lovers (and for a film for young people) it contains quite a few animal-unfriendly scenes with animals being ripped open. Perhaps very natural, but less pleasant to watch. 2.5*. Give me Belle et Sébastien (2013) (4*) which is much better in every way.

A fairly simple family film. They usually are with their simplified plots and happy endings, but here the film occasionally takes a walk with itself. Strange role also of that mother who pays more attention to all her conquests than to her daughter. Who would leave for a date trip on her daughter's birthday? What a moron in that convertible. Fortunately it was only a cameo.

The biggest assets of the film are the animals with the wolves and eventually also the bear. The film is not really animal-friendly. The sheep or a deer end up destitute.

There are much better family films on the market with a stronger script and development. On the other hand, the film is not boring. With beautiful images of fauna and flora you can go far.
