Towards the end of World War II, the Americans wonder what the Germans and Italians know about making atomic bombs. They recruit physicist Professor Jesper to make contact with an old acquaintance in Europe, but when he is murdered, he has to go to Italy himself. There he gets the help of resistance fighter Gina.
