The Unguarded Hour plot

"Little things May Wreck Your Love Affair!"

Lady Helen, wife of a prominent English prosecutor, is being blackmailed by a criminal in possession of incriminating letters from her husband. When Helen receives the letters for a fee, she accidentally meets a man who later turns out to be on trial for the murder of his wife. Helen is the only witness to his innocence and has to testify in the case, which is being handled by her husband of all people.
