Rubber plot

Rubber sketches the life of the Dutch settlers on a rubber plantation in Sumatra against the background of the economic crisis of the 1930s. Renée and John van Laer have marital problems. Renée is bored. While her husband John works on the rubber plantation, she flirts with Ravinsky. John van Laer, on the other hand, is also unfaithful to his wife; he has a mistress. Based on the novel of the same name by Madelon Szekely-Lulofs.
