Louisa, een Woord van Liefde plot

In the period just before the outbreak of the First World War, little Isabelle flees from the orphanage. She meets Pierre and Paul, two romantic adventurers, who take her along and care for her like fathers. They are summoned to a castle to cheer up the engagement party of Louisa, the daughter of a wealthy industrialist, with their hot air balloon. Their balloon is lost due to the brutal behavior of some of the guests. Louisa, who is married off against her will, rebels against the narrow-mindedness of her milieu and stands up for Pierre and Paul. At night she flees the castle with them and Isabelle. Together they take up residence in an empty farm, where a time of happy togetherness begins.
