The Vanishing Prairie plot
"A tribute to nature untouched by today."
The documentary focuses on the part of the United States bordered by the Rocky Mountains and the Mississippi River. After a short listing of extinct species, the film shows us several 'endangered' species, such as the 'Whooping Crane', the buffalo, the 'prong-horn' antelope, the 'big-horn' sheep and the prairie dog. While humanity is clearly guilty of the extinction of many animal species, to which the film title alludes, the film also shows how different animal species participate in a process of natural selection. We also see a scene with the birth of a calf with a buffalo.
