Nha Fala plot
On the peninsula of Cap Vert (Senegal), music is very important: there is singing at weddings and funerals, meetings and divorces, elections and inauguration. Only the young Vita is not allowed to sing. There is a curse on her family that says any female descendant who sings dies instantly. When she leaves her native village to study in Paris, her mother reminds her of the curse. Shortly after arriving in Paris, however, Vita meets a young musician, Pierre, and they fall in love. She doesn't know what to do with her happiness and starts singing spontaneously in a romantic moment. Pierre is impressed by her beautiful voice and persuades her to record a record. But when she realizes she has defied the curse, Vita becomes terrified.
