"With dreams like these who needs reality?"

Coleman Ettinger, who is not a grumpy old man, has for years been bothered by schoolchildren driving through his garden on their way to school. He himself is deeply in love with his wife and is therefore looking for a method to preserve his and his wife's life forever by transferring their consciousness into the bodies of younger people. When Bobby Keller has an accident in Coleman's yard on his way to school one day, his brain is confused with Coleman's. Bobby takes this opportunity to use Coleman's life experience to win over the girl of his dreams.

Dream a Little Dream is a bit of a mixed bag. It is, on the one hand, an obvious 80s movie. The eighties vibe is strongly present and especially Corey Feldman is really god awfully ugly eighties with his rancid wet, curly Michael Jackson matte. Obviously an intended appearance, because he still does some of his moves. A movie these days would throw you off if they try to emulate the 80's vibe, but this is a genuine 80's movie. I can't blame the makers.

The movie really tries to be different after that. The opening credits and the end credits are really different and the plot is also very mature. The shitty fun is omitted at many moments and the film does not chew everything terribly. It's a pity that the film is a product of the 80s, because Marco Rocco's ideas transcend possibilities. I don't really think the Coreys act very well, but especially the boy who plays Joel is really hilariously bad. How he can shoot out of nowhere is really below par, so bad. In addition, Rocco unfortunately does not know how to knit everything together. Between almost every change in scene is a bombastic sung soundtrack that tries to be so lyrically accurate that it unintentionally makes you laugh. I think I've come across a song about "dreams" about 5 times. The ending also feels very easygoing after a careful build-up.

Dream a Little Dream is a film full of missed opportunities. On the one hand, it is a unique film and tries to distinguish itself from all other unity mucks in this genre, but the ambitions were too great for the possibilities that the director had at hand and perhaps his own.

Disappointing film in which the brain of an old man ends up in that of a teenage boy. One of the many body-swap movies from the 80's, but not exactly the best. The slightly different editing during the first part just doesn't work here and it's all presented quite messy. Too long and too many songs pass by.

Starts very messy and disorganized but after an hour the film manages to come out nicer.

However, as soon as Feldman opens his mouth, annoyance! It doesn't work towards humor either: almost no funny moments. I'll admit that I watched this one mainly because of Meredith Salenger... Her fruity presence adds a fairly pleasant extra. As a teenager, this chick made me completely bronze. Furthermore, a very incoherent mix of teenage romance and body swap fantasy. Not the best
