Jean Rollin has made me a number of films where you have a 'what the ...' feeling from start to finish. This Requiem pour un Vampire has that feeling the strongest, 2 ladies in clown suits, hairy dirty men, too much sex.. Can only say that I found this film by Jean Rollin very bad.

The film, like most of his films, is very slow, and sometimes just too slow. The first 20 minutes are exhausting for the viewer, so boring, so slow. From the moment the ladies in clown suits enter the castle, things start to get going.

But from then on, a lot of sex actually follows, which we are used to from Jean Rollin. But the sex in this Requiem pour un Vampire is different, more perverse I might say. Movies with rapes don't appeal to me, so I just skip those kinds of bits. And then there really isn't much left.

In this film by Jean Rollin, unlike his other films, you get less beautiful pictures, the film is really too slow (Which the others still do) and the sex (soft porn) in this film is edge, over. Star.

My first acquaintance with this French horror director is immediately a big disappointment. Lots of nudity, but not impressive at all. The sex scenes don't excite at all. I'm not talking about story and cast.

Vampires that bat-shape you in the pubic area? How do you come up with that? No, I do think there are better ones from this director. Alé...let's hope because I still have a few on the shelf here.

3/10

If you're looking for a typical vampire movie, you should definitely ignore Jean Rollin's work. This director is mainly experimental in nature. You can't really call his vampire films horror films. The purpose of these movies is not to scare the hell out of you.

Rollin uses minimal dialogue here, making Vierges Et Vampires almost sound like a silent movie from the 1920s. It gives the film a special atmosphere and no one can better bring the macabre atmosphere of a vampire movie to the silver screen than Jean Rollin did. This French director made several vampire films in the early 1970s, of which Vierges Et Vampires is one. Rollin gratefully uses the same sets and actors as in his other films.

This film is not his best work, but it does contain all the typical elements of a Rollin film. The actresses Marie-Pierre Castel and Mireille Dargent are fun to watch. There is no real story and the nudity that Rollin often uses in his films is anything but functional. Like movies like La Vampire Nue and Le Frisson Des Vampires, Vierges Et Vampires has a psychedelic undertone and is a paragon of the hippie era at the end 60s and early 70s.
