The Last Movie plot
"There is a time to die and a time not to"
An action western is shot in Peru, until a stuntman is killed. After the crew disappears, Kansas (Hopper) stays behind to earn a few quick cents. However, the people of Peru did not understand that the footage was not real, and after the film is finished they start a cult in which they impersonate it. With wooden cameras and microphones they imitate what they saw weeks before - only this time the bullets are real. Hopper decided to stop halfway through and spend the budget on drugs, but let the cameras film everything. The result is half a documentary.
