Anna, daughter of a gardening couple, leaves the matrimonial home to live in a room in Amsterdam. She has trouble standing on her own two feet and becomes increasingly entangled in conflict situations. As a result, she keeps changing addresses and even ends up on the street at one point. Ultimately, Anna ends up in a mental institution. It soon becomes apparent that her home is emotionally poor...
