Lena Doyle has her own piece of land and has a sense that there is oil to be found. She enlists the wandering Mase Mason to help her with the drilling. The oil magnate Hellman also has an eye on the piece of land and when Lena does not want to sell, he enlists his accomplices to threaten Lena.
