Das Goldene Tor plot

In Das Goldene Tor, fragments from nature films about insects and reptiles, images from space travel and astronomy and images from own recordings of human behavior from the environment of the maker, Reble, are interwoven. The experiences of years of research into chemical manipulation of image material during and after the development of the images are used. These acquire a painterly quality and provide an atmosphere that lies between Dream and Reality. During the film, the observations have less to do with reality. Extremely long displays emphasize the transcendence of human activity, with subsequent darkness creating a transcended inner light.
