A western with a number of very big names, but which is nevertheless not very well known. That is of course also because those names do not come from the acting world, but belong to, among others, the four Highwaymen. In addition to that quartet, there were also roles for Cash's wife and son and David Allen Coe also had a small role. Many musicians in this remake of one of the greatest classics from the western genre. Fortunately, this did not lead to dominant music and this did not degenerate into a musical.

Of all the artists who play the part, there is of course only one who can be a worthy successor to John Wayne and that is Kris Kristofferson. The only one of the group who also made it in the film industry with a role as Billy the Kid. The role he has here, as Ringo (Kid), is very similar and he also plays very strongly here. The other singers look a bit awkward and it takes some time to really see them in their role. Willie Nelson in particular has a nice role as the famous dentist and tuberculosis patient Doc Holliday who is included in the story for the occasion.

All in all, this Stagecoach is a pretty nice remake that, in my opinion, should not be seen as a very serious attempt at improvement, but is definitely worth watching. Especially for fans of the singers, it is quite nice to see them do something different.

Remake of an old John Wayne movie that I haven't seen. It was an idea of the country band around Johnny Cash, but they didn't do a damn thing. After more than an hour, nothing has happened in this sleep-inducing western. Only talking, chatting, more talking and palaver. And a baby coming as if I'm waiting for that in a western. The same thing is said five times, for example that Geronimo attacks carriages on the road and Ringo kid tells twice more that his brother was murdered. Ten minutes before the end, the first action scene finally comes, but much too late... Bad movie.
