Gritos en la Noche plot
"You'll get an insight into the face of terror!"
dr. Orloff, an ex-army medic, kidnaps attractive young ladies from nightclubs at night with the intention of using their skin to patch up the face of his daughter, whose face was horribly disfigured by a fire. Quite by accident, a police officer and a ballerina Dr. Orloff on the trail and try to prevent his misdeeds.

Wow, what positivism here. Of course, Franco made many lesser films after this, but that does not make this work (with the necessary cheesy dialogues) a really strong work...

Feature directorial debut of frequent filmmaker Jesús Franco, who would direct almost 200 films in total between 1962 and 2013. Mostly cheapies, horror, soft porn or a mixture thereof.
This seems to be somewhat based on Franju's "Les Yeux Sans Visage" from 2 years earlier, although we are here in 1912 and we are still driving the carriage. Fairly typical early 60s horror, but thanks to the creepy assistant Morpho, there is still quite a bit of horror to be had.
The original 90-minute version has a little more dialogue, I saw the French print of 82 minutes, but there we actually see the bare breasts of one of the victims and they are not visible in the Spanish version (probably not. other Franco)... we also miss the later Franco sleaze a little bit, but another title can be crossed off the endless Franco list.
