De Dans van de Reiger plot

Elena and Edward are on vacation on the Yugoslav coast. She is an attractive woman, unsatisfied in her marriage. He is a pale man, who refuses to go out in the sun. Elena lures Paul, a somewhat ridiculous compatriot from the beach to the villa, openly flirts with him and taunts her husband. Earlier that year, at a ball-masque in Den Bosch, she made an escapade with a sailor. Edward has not forgiven her.

Mediocre dubbing is the major shortcoming of this film adaptation of the play by Hugo Claus - who himself wrote the screenplay in which Edouard [Jean Desailly] cannot forgive his wife Elena [Gunnel Lindblom] for having an affair with a sailor [Manfred de Graaf ]. Lindblom is good as the seductive wife who tries to attract her husband's attention, but Rademakers would have been better off with two actors who speak Dutch. He himself provided the voice of Edouard, Hetty Verhoogt voiced the role of Lindblom.

That didn't bother me with this film. Well, with 'Because Of The Cats', it's barely noticeable.
