My Beautiful Son plot

dr. Jerry Lipman is a meticulous New York psychiatrist and, according to his best friend Howard, an inveterate womanizer who seems to have made it. However, his life is turned upside down when he discovers that he has leukemia. A bone marrow transplant from a sibling would increase his chances of survival, but Jerry is an only child. Then his mother Esther tells him that he was adopted and was born in Liverpool, England. Completely stunned, but hoping he might have siblings after all, Jerry flies to England to find his birth mother.
