Inspecteur Lavardin plot
In a town in northern France, the writer Raoul Mons is found murdered on the beach. Inspector Lavardin is called to the rescue. To his surprise, Mons's widow is a former lover of his. He notices that no one really mourns the death of the writer. Lavardin searches for the culprit and ends up in a nightclub.
