"Is the book mightier than the gun?"

Cecil Peachtree, a teacher, misses the last train to Fortune. There, he meets a bandit named Dooley, after which they make a deal. The gunslinger will take the book lover Cecil to Fortune in exchange for the salary waiting there for the teacher.
