Stephen [Luke Bracey] leaves his job as a set designer for European theater productions behind to return to his remote Australian hometown to say goodbye to his seriously ill mother [Christine Jeffery]. Confrontations with old acquaintances, including an ex-girlfriend [Shubshri Kandiah] and two brothers [Declan Brown, Ryan Graeme Allen] who used to bully him, force Stephen to confront his past (and his prejudices). A rather unremarkable story with occasional surprises. Worth watching, but due to its general predictability, it's far from a high-flyer.

Aussie nostalgia.
Bryan Brown is at the age to move to a care home. Fortunately, the film turns this into a pleasant and placid Aussie affair, keeping the drama rather understated; there isn't a sharp edge to be found anywhere.
And rightly so, because what a shock it is to see Brown hobbling through the film as such an old man. Well, he is 78, but still—it seems like just last week that he was young. In the film, that is. Something like Cocktail (1988). Oh right, that was quite a while ago.
Not a movie to watch when you're tired, because you'll doze off in no time.
