The Way, My Way plot

"He walked the Camino not knowing why - but his life would be forever changed."

Bill, a headstrong and sometimes egocentric man, decides at the age of almost 60 to make the pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela in 31 days. He does not know why he started the 800-kilometer long journey, but he finds meaning in the encounters with other pilgrims. Ultimately, each step brings him closer to himself and it becomes a life-changing experience for him.

A rather peculiar film that combines an unusual mix of autobiography with what feels like a sloppily staged documentary. This is partly because some of the actors are apparently playing themselves and are doing a terrible job, and partly because the production values are shaky. Or maybe it's because the main character is such an unsympathetic and clueless jerk.

And yet it's quite enjoyable to watch. Apparently, that's the magic of the Camino.
