It is August 15th and, like every year, Paul and his friends are having a picnic on the island of Callot. This year, the group gets stuck in the high water and disagrees about what to do. Tensions arise as the adults argue about who is responsible. Paul, who is balancing between childhood and adulthood, becomes aware of his own personality.
