Grafted plot

Chinese university student Wei is intelligent but socially awkward. Through an exchange program, she gets the chance to finish the work of her father, a famous biologist, in New Zealand. Grafted is a low-budget film, and knowing that, it's still decent, but certainly not a high-flyer. But in the New Zealand and Australian world, not many decent horror films are made. Nothing special, I give it a meager six.

A deliciously raw film that shows everything from deformed people to cutting, sawing, and scalping. The story is effectively a math whiz with skin problems and daddy issues going crazy. It doesn't slow down, and that's where this Kiwi film truly stands out. The practical effects are quite gory. The low budget never bothers, and the acting is above par. 3.5 stars.
