The Germans speak German in this film. There are also a few characters who do indeed speak English with an accent, but the film is also about (American) missionaries trying to escape Germany before the Second World War breaks out. So for that reason, mainly English is spoken.

Although the film is based on true events and the cast plays quite well, I still didn't think much of it. It felt a bit tame. And although the hallelujah content was quite limited, I can muster little sympathy for missionaries who, according to themselves, are there to do God's work, but run away when things get a bit too hot under their feet.
