Funny for a Dutch production and director Michael Middelkoop fortunately doesn't take this nonsensical concept too seriously. With a title like Street Coaches vs. Aliens the viewer doesn't have to expect a serious film, but the scriptwriters still push the humor a bit too thick under the viewer's visor. The mediocre acting ensures a limited delivery of the comedy, so you mainly wait for the science fiction angles. Fortunately, they are quite okay and the pace is high, but otherwise this project doesn't have much going on and it doesn't want to be very exciting or atmospheric. Because it all lasts short enough and is quite enjoyable to watch, it wins a few bonus points, but not enough for a narrow pass.

So consistently not funny. In itself, Michael Middelkoop manages to create a reasonably slick film with limited resources. Creature design. Color and light effects. Spaceships. A real zombie invasion. But 'Street coaches vs. Aliens' (2025) desperately tries to be funny and 'cool'. With those shitty staccato dialogues and lots of poop and fart jokes. And then it turns out to be a super-brave film...

Lo and behold, another Dutch genre film popping up on Amazon Prime. A sci-fi comedy this time and as befits a Dutch film the comedy is very weak and forced, but the sci-fi part works surprisingly well.
Jim Deddes playing a character named Weiland is hilarious.
