Ikoku Nikki plot
Makio Kodai is a shy 35-year-old writer. One day, her brother and her brother's married partner die in a car accident. Makio Kodai attends their funeral and meets her 15-year-old niece Asa Takumi, who is now left alone due to the death of her parents. The other family members at the funeral speak insensitive words about Asa Takumi. Makio Kodai becomes furious with them and decides to take her niece in. Makio Kodai, who has problems with relationships with other people, and Asa Takumi now start living together.
