Soporifically slow and extremely woodenly acted drama about three members of a Somali family from the village of Paradise. Mamargade [Ahmed Ali Farah] is a jack-of-all-trades who digs graves, transports animals and smuggles goods across the border. He is the foster father of Cigaal [Ahmed Mohamoud Salleban] who has to go to a boarding school in a village further away after the local primary school closes due to financial shortages. Finally, there is Mamargade's sister Araweelo [Ana Ahmed Ibrahim] who discovers how difficult it is to set up a shop as an unmarried woman. The windy locations make for some nice pictures, but it is a long wait for something that resembles a story.

It was really nice to see a completely Somali-spoken film. It's a rather slow film with a series of somewhat disjointed scenes. The acting feels a bit unnatural, but I didn't find it distracting. Beautifully filmed.
