L'Art d'Être Heureux plot
The conceptual painter Jean-Yves Machond has already experienced setbacks in his career. He decides to give up Brussels and his job as a teacher and settles in Étretat. In this mecca of impressionism he searches for inspiration for his masterpiece, which will finally bring him eternal fame and recognition. For this he still has to start from scratch. He meets Bagnoule, a figurative painter and a naive and enthusiastic bon vivant with his heart in the right place, and the manipulative gallery owner Cécile. Above all, it is the local residents who prove essential for the implementation of his plans.
