Hayasaka Akito is a talented artist. He works hard to be admitted to the Nika exhibition, but a tumor is discovered in his heart and he is told he has one year to live. Akito does not express his emotions about the diagnosis. One day, on the roof of the hospital, he meets Sakurai Haruna, who is painting. She tells him that she only has six months to live. Akito becomes increasingly attracted to her, but he does not tell her about his condition.

I love Japanese dramas, but this one here is reminiscent of that other Turkish monstrosity on Netflix that has blown into the top 250. Extremely melodramatic film that makes it cringe-worthy annoying.
Not a moment is missed to let the strings do their work. The camera work also contributes by systematically zooming in on the character. The characters and circumstances only seem more pathetic.
The approach with the drawings and flowers are not particularly original, but I thought they were well done. That's a pretty girl, Ren Nagase. Furthermore, a slightly too clichéd film in which moments are literally constructed with little attention to the context.
I love drama films and they are by far my most watched genre, but these types also exist and are less my thing. I already feared it, but I won't ignore a Japanese film.
