Čiulbanti Siela plot

This costume film is set in the nineteenth century, but the spirit of the twentieth century is always menacingly present. It is the early days of the automobile, aviation, psychoanalysis and, of course, cinema. A forested village in southern Lithuania watches the historic upheavals unfazed and prepares for the day of judgment. Two women talk about the afterlife, a traveling musician sees strange occurrences on his journey, stories circulate about growing stones floating through the air, a group of fairies are weaving diligently in a hut, a feudal lord broods over an optical instrument and his daughter is warned about the witches in a nearby tree.
