About 250,000 German refugees arrive in Denmark just before the country is liberated in the spring of 1945. When a high school is turned into an internment camp for German refugees, those responsible, the couple Jakob and Lis, and their children find themselves in an impossible situation. Should the family go against the Danes' anti-German sentiment and help the refugees - or remain steadfast in their resistance against the Germans?

Film about the treatment of people who were 'wrong' during the war. It is now well known that in some cases horrible mistakes have been made in the hunt for these alleged or otherwise suspected collaborators. Apparently this also happened in Denmark after the liberation. A dramatic story, largely told from the point of view of an adolescent.
