Nurse Jonathan de Jong traveled the world for three years to see what alternatives there are for people with dementia. He lives among people over 80 in a retirement home and knows how to easily make contact with professionals everywhere he goes, but especially with the residents. He hopes to positively influence our view of dementia and thus our vision on care for people with dementia. A sincere, well-intentioned documentary, made by an inexperienced and - as it turns out - incompetent filmmaker. In woodenly delivered voice-overs, De Jong himself speaks about as much as the people he meets. He keeps stealing the same questions and coming up with the same answers. With the sentimental piano melodies and strings he tries to influence public opinion even more emphatically. A better filmmaker would have understood that it is much more effective to keep your face and let the camera and the people involved tell their story. Ultimately, this is mainly preaching for your own parish and that is of little use to the people concerned.
