The coming-of-age story of 52-year-old Rogier Kappers who pursues an old childhood dream: to become famous with singing glasses. In this comic documentary we follow our (anti)hero on his sometimes hilarious and moving quest for fame, love and fortune. From building his first glass organ with his own hands to a passionate encounter with the world-famous composer Arvo Pärt and from his first steps on the street to a disastrous adventure in Dubai.

Lack of return, high risks, no time; there are many more reasons to think of not to pursue your dream. Rogier does, and he shows how through a documentary about pursuing his ambitions. It has become a touching and infectious self-portrait. Read my review here.

After a burnout, 51-year-old documentary maker Rogier Kappers is looking for a new way to give meaning to his life. Encouraged by his father, he decides to take the plunge and pursue an old dream: he converts a cargo bike into a flight case with which he can take his homemade glass organ everywhere and tries to earn a living as a “glass turner”. Formally considered a documentary, Kappers wisely added some dramatic elements to give the story of a fifty-something chasing his boyhood dream a more universal character. He largely gets away with it in this amusing and possibly inspiring docudrama with a healthy dose of humor.
