Forever plot

Fourteen-year-old girls Mila and Kia have always been best friends, plus teammates at a girls' football club. When the team gets a new, demanding coach, their common goals begin to drift apart. Mila, who lives alone with her mother, dreams of becoming a professional footballer and playing in the Gothia Cup, the world's largest youth football tournament. Surrounded by a financially secure and harmonious family, Kia begins to realize that there are other things in the world besides sports. Will their friendship last, or will it fall prey to personal success?

Character study about two friends, one of whom focuses fanatically on football, while the other discovers that there are more and more important things in life. Growing up is just an "ouch". A nice coming-of-age film also for people who don't like football.

Entertaining coming-of-age film, but one in which the characters do a lot of stupid things and then suffer minimal consequences. Positively, both Flutra Cela and Judith Sigfridsson play their characters with verve and therefore create believable appearances, but Jessika Jankert's screenplay unfortunately creates few figures for whom you can feel empathy. The football matches lack pressure, the drama never fails to move and the structure jumps from one topic to another. The film does offer a representation of the typically stubborn adolescence, but director Anders Hazelius is unable to compensate for the "mean" moments with the more sensitive moments. Towards the end it hardly feels as if the film has been working towards anything, those who complain about the LGBTQ+ undertone clearly have not watched further than half an hour. The film barely addresses such matters.

A nice feel good film. Too bad the comments here are a bit disappointing. The love with which the film was made by the players and crew, bursts from the screen. And you really don't have to be a woman, girl or football fan to find this a very nice film. Of course, some things are a bit dramatized and our leading actress is allowed to do a lot of stupid things without really having to suffer the consequences. But that gives a good tension in the film so that things don't become too sweet. Another good Scandinavian film as we are used to from them. There are still some fun facts about the film on the internet.
